Acacia Blassengale is an urban farmer, educator, and social worker with more than 20 years of experience working with children, families, and communities. Her work centers on using small animals, gardens, and hands-on learning as tools for healing, education, and connection.
She is the founder of “Rabbits 4 Good”, a community-based rabbitry that supports animal-assisted therapy, emotional support services, and sustainable soil enrichment through regenerative practices. She also developed the “Ground Gems” product line, which transforms rabbit manure into soil-building products that promote healthy soil and reduce reliance on chemical fertilizers.
Through her work, Acacia helps young people build confidence, life skills, responsibility, and a deeper relationship with nature. Her work also includes a strong focus on seed saving and trial farming, using test crops to explore what grows best in small urban spaces. Trial crops are often shared through food donations and fresh food demonstrations. She is passionate about expanding equitable access to garden-based learning and encouraging stewardship through curiosity, care, and hands-on experience.
