Are you looking for an idea or inspiration? Here are a few takeaways from our 2024 grantees.

Margaret Dogde, Mercy Housing Lakefront, 2024 Plus Specialty Award Winner
“As a result of the GrowMoreGood grant award, Batavia Apartments was able to implement a youth gardening program for the first time. The building installed four outdoor raised garden beds. Most youth were exposed to gardening for the first time, and they learned about new fruits and vegetables and watering and sunshine levels. Then they connected these lessons to their own water consumption, which led the youth to use water bottles more often.”

Rie Cowan, Hiram High School, 2024 Pride Specialty Award Winner
“The Pride Grant allowed us to put in our Rainbow garden which was in support of our LGBTQ population at our school. The garden club is inclusive to these students and they were very happy to know that a garden was planted in their honor. The garden initially included the majority of annual plants but has been replanted this fall to include perennial plants and even spring, summer, and fall bulbs to ensure that there is something blooming throughout the year.”

Toye Powell, Harmony Elementary, 2024 Equity Specialty Award Winner
“The Harmony School Garden grew because we connected to the high school and student volunteers to help in the garden. We were able to update dilapidated raised beds, create a walkway and sitting area for students, and gain more volunteers from the conservation district in our area. Now we can serve all of the 743 youth in our area.”
