KidsGardening is excited and honored to host the American Horticultural Society’s 29th National Children & Youth Garden Symposium (NCYGS) virtually on our new Kids Garden Community tomorrow through the end of the week.
In addition to the Symposium’s 30+ peer-led educational sessions and live Q&As, the Kids Garden Community will allow attendees to participate interactively by providing a platform to engage with each other on each topic. While the event is held once annually, the Kids Garden Community will remain open all year for participants to continue conversations, share ideas and resources, and celebrate one another year-round.
“NCYGS, whether it’s taking place in-person or virtually, allows attendees to step back from their day-to-day work and devote some time to connecting with garden education peers from around the country and giving head space to some of the larger issues that impact our work and the field,” said Katherine Somerville, Associate Manager of Programs at AHS. “This year we are digging into authentic youth empowerment.”
The American Horticultural Society (AHS) strives to help reconnect children with nature by educating and inspiring others to look at garden design from a new point of view. In the nearly three decades since it debuted, the NCYGS has trained, energized, and inspired thousands of educators who have, in turn, gone on to educate over a million children.
To join and connect with this impressive network of garden educators, be sure to register today!
Live attendance is not required as all sessions will be recorded and accessible on-demand for a year after the event. More information on this event can be found at www.ahsgardening.org/ncygs.
