Let's Grow Together!

Thank you to everyone who entered this year's contest and shared how they are growing together with their family, friends, or community! Congratulations to our ten grand prize winners. 

Kids Garden Month is our annual celebration of kids in the garden! Each April, we host a contest to celebrate kid gardeners, as well as lifting up the many positive benefits gardening has on kids and their communities.

This year, our Kids Garden Month contest theme is “Let’s Grow Together!” We’re asking kids to tell us who they garden with, how gardening helps them connect with their friends, family, or community, or any other way they grow alongside their garden.

Entries can be pictures, video, songs, dances, poems, art, craft, and more! Creativity is encouraged. Kids, show us how you grow! Entries can be submitted by individual kids, or by a group or class.

About the Kids Garden Month Contest

Kids, we want to hear from you! Share how you grow together with family, friends, or community with a picture, video, song, dance, poem, art, craft, or anything else you can think of!

Creativity is encouraged! Kids ages 0-18 are eligible to participate. Entries are welcome from around the world, but only entries from the US and US territories are eligible to win prizes. Due to shipping restrictions, certain prizes may be restricted to the lower 48 states.

Kids Garden Month Contest Prizes

Kids Garden Month will have weekly winners and grand prize winners.

Weekly winners

Each week, we’ll choose a random winner from among our favorite entries to win a prize package!

Weekly winners will be chosen and announced April 10, 17, 24, and May 2.

Weekly winner packages will include: 

• A care package from Mrs. Meyers Clean Day
• A seed collection from High Mowing Organic Seeds
• Gardening gloves from Watson Gloves
• "We Garden Together" by Jane Hirshi and the educators at City Sprouts
• A $50 gift card to Gardener's Supply Company
• A kids garden tool set and watering can from U+Me

Grand prize winners

We will choose TEN grand prize winners: five individuals (one child or family entry) and five groups or classes. Winners will be announced May 23, 2023.

Individual grand prize winner packages will receive $100 and

• A care package from Mrs. Meyers Clean Day
• A seed collection from High Mowing Organic Seeds
• Gardening gloves from Watson Gloves
• "We Garden Together" by Jane Hirshi and the educators at City Sprouts

Group/class grand prize winners will receive $500 and 

• A care package from Mrs. Meyers Clean Day
• A seed collection from High Mowing Organic Seeds
• A set of ten pairs of gardening gloves from Watson Gloves
• "We Garden Together" by Jane Hirshi and the educators at City Sprouts

How to Participate

The Kids Garden Month Contest is open April 1-30, 2023. The contest is now closed. Grand prize winners will be announced May 23, 2023.
