Tristana is the leader at the School Garden Support Organization (SGSO) Network, a national network of over 4,100 individuals, schools and non-profit organizations school working at a district, regional, statewide, or national level to grow the school garden movement. Previously, Tristana was the Edible Education Leader for over 8 years at Whole Kids Foundation, a non-profit foundation of Whole Foods Market. There she lead all Edible Education programs, including four grant areas with annual combined budget of up to $3.4 MM across the United States, Canada and the U.K. She also served on the Urban Roots Community Advisory board from 2013-2018. Tristana has a degree in Human Biology from Stanford University.
Tristana is a lover of gardening, especially in how it supplies fresh fruits and vegetables for all of her cooking adventures! Her passion and commitment to delicious nutritious food comes from her multicultural African-American and Italian background and experiences. Her dream is for every child to experience garden-based edible education in school or at home and is thrilled to help KidsGardening in its mission.
