Green Our Planet Grant Programs- Now Open!

Is your school interested in a school garden or hydroponic system?

School gardens are some of the best tools for hands-on learning and engagement, and our friends at Green Our Planet are here to help by offering two programs to provide schools and students more access to gardens and garden-based learning. Learn more about their GardenConnect and HydroConnect programs!

GardenConnect

The GardenConnect program provides schools support and guidance from the educators at Green Our Planet as they develop or expand their school garden. Teachers and other school staff receive:

  1. STEM curriculum, resources, lesson plans, videos, and other printable resources
  2. Access to an online portal with other garden educators across the country
  3. Coaching support from the Green Our Planet Team

This program is valued at $3,500, and Green Our Planet will cover the full cost of the program for up to 100 schools.

Apply by July 21, 2023, to be considered.

HydroConnect

The HydroConnect Program provides schools equipment to install a hydroponic garden system and offers support and guidance from the educators at Green Our Planet. The program includes:

  1. A commercial hydroponic system with 216 planting pods and nineteen 12-pod classroom units
  2. STEM curriculum, resources, lesson plans, videos, and other printable resources
  3. Access to an online portal with other garden educators across the country
  4. Coaching support from the Green Our Planet Team

This program is valued at $10,000, and Green Our Planet will cover 80% of the costs of the program for up to 300 schools. Schools are responsible for $2,000 in total.

Combined GardenConnect and HydroConnect

Do you want to apply for both opportunities? Great! Green Our Planet created a combined application for you to use instead.

The combined programs are valued at $13,500, and Green Our Planet will cover 85% of the costs. Schools are responsible for $2,000 in total.

School gardens and school hydroponic systems give youth and teachers the opportunity to interact with nature, be curious, engage in physical activity, practice cooperation, and learn problem-solving skills.
