Lily Nguyen – Education Specialist
Lily grew up in Texas and graduated from UT Austin with a B.A. in Geography - Sustainability with an aptitude for understanding systems, the benefits of regenerative practices and community-oriented solutions, and the power of having a synergistic relationship with our environment. She is passionate about creatively transforming food from seed to plate and believes that having a hand in the entire process can allow us to become more connected to ourselves, nature, and one another.
Lily has experience in P-20 garden-based and formal education, Farm to School & Garden to Cafeteria, and is also a certified ESL and yoga teacher. She has worked with FoodCorps Hawai’i, The Hawai’i Institute of Pacific Agriculture, The University of Texas Community Garden, Keep Austin Beautiful, and the Sustainable Food Center to promote environmental and healthy food education. She taught English in Ecuador and traveled throughout South America for nearly 3 years and is fluent in Spanish.
She currently lives on the Big Island of Hawai'i and loves to spend her free time in the ocean, finding balance (surfing, skating, and slacklining), and adventuring with her puppy, Kiko.
